There will be rejoicing in the streets and lanes around Stoke by Nayland this evening after a convincing victory against our visitors from Rushmere overt the Gainsborough course.

And a hard earned but well deserved victory it was too.

Captain Steve, partnered by Graham Head led the way with a victory against one of the few players to grace the SBN links in a fine pair of braces.

Norman Harris and Robin Tyrrell fought back from 3 down after 4 holes to edge a win.

Bob Wheatley and Peter Jay achieved a convincing victory in no small part to some exceptional chipping and putting from Bob who used his handicap shots extremely well.

The dangerous pairing of Roger Fleuty and Mervyn Jones shaded their game as did Mike Pickard / Colin Jackson and Peter Deasy/ John Wheatley again benefiting from great performances from Colin and Peter in their respective games.

Roger Doherty and Alan Burrows worked hard to achieve a half

Yet another excellent SBN lunch – well done to the SBN catering team. Two SBN teams performed well on the day.
