Inter Club Match v Newton Green Away October 2010

The final Match of the Season was rearranged for today by Newton Green.

Unfortunately, other events were also taking place on the Course during the same morning.

This resulted in Newton Green only being able to find 12 players, leaving our final two groups to play together.

With split tee off points some of the groups experienced hold ups when reaching the first tee and were redirected to another part of the course.

The whole situation was not good and when our final “ all Stoke” group came back to the first tee they were held up again, so decided to call it a day and cancelled their meals with the Chef.

The remainder played on and some close matches developed.

Of the six games taking place, 3 were won and 3 were lost, giving an overall draw.

The captain was hoping to claim a win from the final “all Stoke” pairing but with a no return this was not allowable.

A great meal was enjoyed with plenty of the usual banter from the floor!
