MATCH V HARWICH (HOME)
WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 21st 2011
The faith of the Committee has again paid off. During the dark days, earlier in the year, their were mutterings to relieve the Captain of his job but the Committee remained resolute and we now see Steve Ling moulding this relatively young team (we have some members as young as 65), into a force to be reckoned with
Relegation is no longer in the air and we are looking serious play-off contenders.
Against Harwich we overcame an appalling display by the Vice Captain and still finished the day as winners.
Actually, Dave Ferdinand arrived late and had obviously not gone through his pre-match exercises. He wasn't even there for the pre-match huddle, much to the relief of his team mates.
Seriously, it was a great day - the Course was in great shape and the meal first class and the Harwich members were fulsome in their praise of our Club.
The SBN team discussing just how long they will give the Vice Captain before calling up reserves!!!
The results of individual matches were as follows :
LING & SMITH HALVED
FERDINAND & DANIELS LOST
AUSTIN & OXBORROW HALVED
ALLISON & OSBORNE T WON
HOUGHTON & SIMPSON LOST
BURROWS & KING HALVED
BROWN & HARRIS WON
FLEUTY & JACKSON WON
