A warm and sunny morning welcomed our visitors from Frinton.
The Gainsborough course was in excellent condition so no excuse for poor performances could be made.
With this in mind, the Captain and Roger Fleuty set off in determined fashion and despite losing the first hole to a birdie made short work of their opponents.
The mood continued with most of the team overcoming their Frinton players, hoping to reverse the narrow loss at the away fixture.
Wins came in from Tony Smith / David Hunter, Alex Giddens / Alan Line, Bob Wheatley / John King and John Williams / Colin Ladley.
A half from Richard Gregory / Robin Tyrrell with defeats for Steve Wright / Merv Jones and John Simpson / Tom Mackinlay rounded off a satisfactory 5 ½ - 2 ½ victory.
Nearest the pin was won by Alex, who had a superb round.
The day was completed with another wonderful carvery meal.
