Captain and Andrew v John Williams and Steve Wright. - Constable Course
This match started a few minutes late in order to give Steve Wright a few moments to celebrate Prince Phillip's 90th birthday - As you all know Steve is a staunch Royalist.
The match itself was a real ding-dong affair with no quarter given or asked. John treated us to some long-driving whilst Steve chipped in with some decent putts.
On the relatively short 11th hole the Captain felt somewhat embarrassed when the gallant two wouldn't give Andrew a two foot, uphill putt. I didn't say anything but felt this was perhaps a little disrespectful.
Then "bugger-me" Andrew missed it by a foot. Good decision lads!
The outcome of the match was a win (two-up) for the Captain and Pro but I would like to thank our opponents for a really great morning.
Our picture shows the opposing team, just before the National Anthem was played.
